GF2 Webinar- How to complete an application

Participate in an information webinar to learn about the Growing Forward 2 Funding Assistance for Producers Program.

Growing Forward 2 (GF2) is a five-year federal-provincial-territorial initiative designed to encourage innovation, competitiveness and market development in Canada's agri-food and agri-products sector through cost share funding opportunities.

These webinars will provide an opportunity to learn about completing an online application using the GF2 Client Portal. Whether you wish to apply online or in person, these sessions will help provide guidance to ensure your application is complete.

To participate in a webinar, you need an internet connection as well as a telephone line. You must register for webinars as there are a limited number of participants per session.

Ces webinaires vous donneront l’occasion d’apprendre comment remplir une demande en ligne à l’aide du portail client CA2. Que vous vouliez faire votre demande en ligne ou en personne, ces sessions vous offriront des conseils pour vous assurer que votre formulaire de demande est complet.

La participation au webinaire nécessite une connexion Internet ainsi qu’une ligne téléphonique. Vous devez vous inscrire aux webinaires car le nombre de participants admis à chaque session est limité.

Biosecurity for Dairy Producers

Two free workshops are being offered: June 13, 2016 10 am to 3 pm Avonmore ON June 15, 2016 10 am to 3 pm Almonte ON

During this FREE workshop, Dr. Dave Douglas from Navan Veterinary Services will speak about best practices to consider in managing biosecurity risks on your farms and producers will be informed of grants available and how to apply for them.

If you are considering renovations on your farm, purchase of equipment or training opportunities covered under the Growing Forward 2 Animal Health category, funding assistance may be available - participation in this workshop is a requirement. Items like the following are examples only: · equipment or systems to improve animal hygiène and treatment like footbaths, udder cleaning systems · replacing interior surfaces (walls, flooring, dividers) with non-porous washable materials such as concrete, puck board or stainless steel · modifications to facilitate more efficient movement of animals to reduce biosecurity risks and/or improve animal comfort (Cow mats, stall extensions, new head rails, alley scrapers, gates, stall dividers) · herd health software · installing a composter, digester or incinerator to manage mortality · construction of a quarantine area to isolate sick animals or to segregate different management groups / age cohorts • And more!!!

Please join us to discuss possible beneficial modifications to your farm biosecurity protocols at the upcoming workshop.

An Evening of Calf Health

Dr. Terri Ollivett, a calf health expert from the University of Wisconsin, will be visiting to discuss pre-weaning health and performance in dairy calves. She will be focusing on calf health and disease, specifically discussing nutrition, scours and pneumonia.

As we get closer to the fall and the inevitable weather changes that take such a toll on our calves in this climate, this is a great opportunity to learn about new ideas and management practices, and to discuss your questions with someone who specializes in calf health research.
